Cornerstone Lutheran's passion is to reach out into our community and beyond (Acts 1:8) with the life-saving/life-changing message of our Lord Jesus Christ. Plans for expanded ministries and future starts continue to be envisioned and implemented. With each step we take, several distinguishing characteristics help to shape our vision and direction: 1) We are a family-oriented ministry that values each and every human being (young and old alike) as an individual whom God loves and makes useful in the work of Christ's kingdom. 2) A crucial and exciting dynamic in the life and ministry of our congregation is embracing and growing in what it means to be a fully-devoted "disciple" of our Lord Jesus Christ. 3) Worship, the Study of God's Word, and Service—and the fellowship that comes as a result—are among our most significant emphases.

What is sin exactly? As Lutherans, we believe that "we all fall short of God's expectations because we are all born "sinful". Sin can be summed up as all the things we say, think, do, and don't do, that fall outside of God's holy will for our lives and end up separating us from God. Sin was brought into world when Satan lured the first people God created (Adam and Eve) into temptation through their own free will and weakness, breaking the perfect relationship between God and us. From that point on, sin became part of our very existence. Because God also demands perfect obedience, our ultimate punishment became death. Yet God is a loving God whose will is not for us to live in eternal punishment. That's why He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live the perfect life He requires and to become our substitute. Christ never sinned - not even once - and then He took our sin upon Himself and died on the cross, on our behalf. Our Military Ministry prays for and supports those who have served and currently serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. We include friends and families of those at CLC that choose to serve in the military - both members and nonmembers. The ministry sponsors different service projects throughout the year and supports several non-profit organizations that assist our military. During the month of June, the CLC Military Ministry is collecting much-needed items for HVAF (Hoosier Veterans Assistance Foundation), an organization in downtown Indy helping our homeless veterans. Look for the collection bins out at each of our sites. Kids ages 3 through grade 4 have a great time experiencing Jesus at Cornerstone Lutheran Church through our Cornerstone Kids program. We deliver solid biblical learning through extraordinary creativity and fun. We want kids to experience the love of Jesus in ways that help them love God with their whole person: heart, soul, mind, and strength. Bible lessons are presented in large and small group settings. Grades are grouped together for the large group teaching time and then meet in smaller groups in their grade level. CARMEL Sundays, 9:30-10:25 AM Please check in at the window by Door 5. In the scriptures, we have been told how much our God loves us. Because of that amazing love, we now get to show that love to the world around us.
The hope we have is that we trust in a preferable future that we will live eternally with Jesus, despite the evidence of the evil that we see in the present, because of a confidence of what Jesus has done for us in the past.
While we know that, in Jesus, we have a hope for our eternity, we sometimes forget about the hope we have for our lives right now as well!
This Sunday, May 5, is Scouting Sunday! Do you have a son entering Kindergarten through 5th grade? Would you and your son like to experience the fun of shooting rockets, racing Pinewood Derby cars, and day camping; in addition to the attending the Den and Pack Meetings, making friends, and learning many life lessons, values, and skills? If so, Cub Scouting may be for you! Both the Carmel & Fishers sites are having a Scouting Sunday on May 5, following the late services. Snacks will be provided. Locations are: > Carmel: Gym > Fishers: Room N While your Son is participating in Cub activities that day, adult leaders, parents, and Cub Scouts will be present to talk about the benefits of scouting and how you and your son can get involved.
